meta v

In my previous article I described the development of an idea ... that's a funny way to put it ... I mean, I'm trying to demonstrate coding ... I'm trying to document the process ... and I guess I'm coding an application that's for sorting large numbers of observations.

Here I want to work through that again, so this will be a kind of index to the earlier document, and hopefully easier to work one's way through ... and maybe I can produce a more complete version of the code, while I'm at it. You see that writing the previous article was pretty helpful to me as I try to sort the problem out ... so now this demonstrates an approach to the coding process: you write about what you're doing, and then you write about what you wrote, and what you wrote becomes a reference and a resource as you write about it.

First, though, I need to get some links. I have, at this point, quite a large number of open tabs, and some of them contain critical resources.

This first one isn't that important, or, I guess, it's not relevant ... I just got it from a Facebook add (I think ... and it was only a couple of hours ago!).

OK, I was trying to figure out global variable, and this page seemed like it could be helpful ... but it didn't help. I couldn't figure them out! The page is interesting in another sense, though, so here it is.

I ended up using my own proprietary alternative to global variable. I knew I was going to have problems with global variables, and I know I'm not going to have problems with my system ... but I did need to work out a few things.

I was closing that global variables reference - closing the tab - and just at that moment I realized it was displaying a really cool ad. I went back and asked it for ad after ad, but I just ended up with this one. The stuff is too girly for me, but it is kind of deluxe.

There were other cool ads before I got to that one (and after I got to that one and clicked on it, that's all it would show me), but I didn't click them (but I guess I only get to click once!). Anyway, the subject of the first cool ad was:

I've just ... first, turns out I have to go back through a bunch of iterations of that global variable page to get to an earlier page, and now it's showing me all sorts of different ads ... and what I just figured out is, I can get the ad urls. https://legend.sitescoutadserver.com/click?clid=6b61d40883&rand=1487463330602&cm=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleadservices.com%2Fpagead%2Faclk%3Fsa%3DL%26ai%3DCAVD4oeOoWKPjCJL6vAKpoKuYC4fYsYFIo6TorYsEwI23ARABIK7PkChgydbEhsSjyBegAauR3t4DyAEJqAMBqgSZAU_QNEwEr93FP6GqRpQBWs643j1oBCT_aWaPgeZuV1HdtDedeuUaQvKpRaYT1_tbmtsW5nWaY6rdu7JCg9ZGatXs8vvB3R6ZBpjcdd80j0wUzyI5gDo-3uWoB8pFKqZBfW2lpF_UCIeQr3XsD-bpWbh3f0pUrCguALe6WnUSUVFADwhaANUmCs5pEzFjDdzUBDOyvlyg08az-4gGAaAGEYAHve6hIagHpr4b2AcA0ggFCIABEAHYEww%26num%3D1%26cid%3DCAASEuRo8Y1yVJeFGJAWLQzO137cvw%26sig%3DAOD64_3D9FGuc4PUuEsVqCG9VlXBljR0zw%26client%3Dca-pub-4699858549023382%26adurl%3D was ... downright dangerous looking ... https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=Cbr5hoeOoWOPQGNfevgKah7OABq2r9qhI6bjpjf0Ev_-v6ZIIEAEgrs-QKGDJ1sSGxKPIF6ABw-KMowPIAQKoAwHIA8kEqgSgAU_QKaSQrV-rMY6ZZGivzee1VSTCaTMo-uKVw4KJD0e1HukfrujayUCU8aalIiGYH60-HNrmwmtSRhQx16Cz1EPm8dKpOQA2vEc5mNXqmXdkVwAPiH55JIx0E1ynZo80nQnt7BdrxqeonI6RIazk_tW7NoJcXQJFcEnZ9DFdhdrf1P94pUokP8RXQ3CIwet3QeNvOtIn1QqUmb7_S7emVLSIBgGgBgKAB533nV2oB6a-G9gHAdIIBQiAARAB2BMM&num=1&cid=CAASEuRoGIOeC2tIeC40SgHv-mWuCA&sig=AOD64_3aB_xWOP5-iMTb5t96eGCPjNdW0A&client=ca-pub-4699858549023382&nm=6&nx=50&ny=171&mb=2&rvdt=0&bg=!iomliZFEfHHp61qLKOsCAAAAklIAAAANmQGF63MJpQCK1hZT1Z62xT4Sfi6_KDN1ppLv05QOmZDUPOleUdAmWxsCQEHb4vF4ca22-_7o3xOPI6nNYbeRp7B-3jeURcTg_MVMM-DHeUnjIBpAsAPvd3_Y7nbXYf-1L_RCNyYHicjA0czohrpLrSuMpb0jdgN2SfwZKJpD8BgxlqOA0IxdJqTyzhzYnIjtnEqOiX4a9YDYTeXVYDNORB_--bG3QwvgALtsAnXcfCLw4NmnG-cUMDpwAf9w0jvJQl5Typ95OGmFRhjaMOQL0Q4dtnlGlcNgVWVCX3KGMlOGRn085ltNX8Sq9Y_oAXW9xuCtx6c1HhGt0e3nshH4AM4yyveW0P4BlUdYQKzHib3FfoZ1wIRXEoU7ZaL77PyTaFgjFh5Gwdx9FE_l_MZFG564VXf8tefD5XXasNw6ICRwe14finBKDF30fv5x9pObthE0acWSswuxZYC_Drj1pgKylf6OItaDsNyNVB_9GX2eUuRbr0GjLcm5ClSybzZBOKWGhnAkRpg&adurl=http://marketo.tibco.com/2016-gartner-report-integration-maturity-model.html%3Fmkwid%3Dc%26pdv%3Dc%26pcrid%3D178691772852%26pmt%3D%26pkw%3D%26campaign%3Dggl_d_us_en_bw_container_similar_audience%26group%3D%26bt%3D178691772852%26_bk%3D%26_bm%3D%26_bn%3Dd was beautiful and powerful looking ... meanwhile I'm saving screenshots ... https://go.greenhouse.io/otto-get-in-touch-a.html?utm_source=adwords-display-banners&utm_medium=paid-search&utm_campaign=otto-a&utm_term=&gclid=CI-hwofymtICFZBafgod8uAI1w was crazy looking, https://www.humancondition.com/?gclid=CKv3gKLymtICFVBhfgod6_UMMw was even crazier! https://plarium.com/play/en/stormfall/top_g?plid=99767&pxl=google_gdn&publisherid=155607759313&placement=www.javatpoint.com&adpartnerset=39521724161&gclid=CKPnkuPzmtICFZKGfgodQY4BZQ after that, this was a breath of fresh air ... https://www.assembla.com/home ... whatever ... https://www.3dcart.com/bigcommerce_vs_3dcart.html?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=Competitor%20%28BMM%29&utm_term=BigCommerce&gclid=CIb-7Y72mtICFZFffgodfUwMnw which I find interesting ... http://issuetemplates.com/?gclid=COeEt832mtICFVRtfgodEEoJYw is really interesting looking, not that I know anything about anything ...

Finally! I've escaped that hell! OK, the link having to do with not using global variable - I mean, everyone know that! - but it does analyze things having to do with variable in some way very thoroughly (seemingly). Frankly, though, I don't have any problems with global variables, or variables generally ... I don't use objects much, for one thing, either ... I mean, of course I use them, but only for very low level functionality. OK, chew on that one for a bit.

I also thought maybe I could use something I've heard of, and probably ought to know all about, session variables. Now I know minimally what they are ... but not by any means what to do with them or how.

This looks useful ... lol.

I use something like this. Maybe it'll be good for something.

This was really interesting, introducing me to .querySelector(). I was writing about an idea that relied on something like that a few essays back ... that has basically all gone by the wayside ... but ... at least maybe I ought to know about it. Oh well.

Also important.
